2020 Season Postponed - Covid-19

Posted On: March 14, 2020

Directors, Coaches, Parents, and Players,

We have been inundated with information regarding the covid-19 virus. We have heard from health care professionals, school district personnel, town and county, state and federal personnel and members of the community. As you know the situation with the covid-19 virus situation is very fluid and it seems that every hour spurs new developments. Given the fact that our sport is played outdoors and that there are no shared locker rooms, the only interaction our kids have is on the field. However out of an abundance of caution we feel the need to have clarity moving forward with respect to our season.

The executive leadership team has decided to postpone the start of the season and plans to play our first games on the Weekend of April 18-19. This will give us more time to see if the virus abates or increases in intensity. We can then review in the subsequent days and weeks to make the best decision regarding the remainder of the season. We regret that we have to make this call but we are seeing a number of districts limit access to facilities and the recommendations from health care providers seem to align with our thinking.

The PAL Executive Board has asked ALL PAL units suspend ALL activities until April 20th. This includes practices!! Please refrain from practicing until at least April 20th or until you hear additional information.

We truly regret having to take this action but believe that it provides the clarity that many of us need and is responsible to all parties. We look forward to seeing you on the fields in the near future and wish you and everyone in your community shared good health and calm.

Regards,
NCPALYLL Executive Leadership
